About Women & Wheels

Women & Wheels was founded in 2020 in Oklahoma, it began as a private Facebook group for women. It was my mission to create a group for women in Oklahoma who loved all things cars, bikes and motorsports. We hosted brunches, dinners, Christmas parties and more. We hosted community events. We volunteered for charities. It didn’t matter if we didn’t even talk about cars, it was just nice to have girlfriends who shared the same passions. We started selling stickers and air fresheners within our small girl gang.

In the fall of 2020, I approached Chase Lautenbach at Street Car Takeover about sponsoring a “Fastest Female” award for the 2021 race season. No matter who it was or what she drove, whichever lady ran the fastest 1/4 mile time in the entire season would get a cash prize and a trophy sponsored by the ladies of Women & Wheels Oklahoma. Chase said, “I have a better idea”.

Then the Women’s Class at SCT was born. A place for women to get together at the track. A non-cut throat environment for beginners to get on the track for the first time. A place for women to meet other supportive women in the community. Our first year of racing with Street Car Takeover was 2021.

Since then we’ve fined tuned our series and grown it significantly. The Women’s Class at SCT is the perfect environment for beginner racers and seasoned driver’s alike to compete on an even playing field. We continue to be one of the only drag race series where a complete beginner to the sport can take home winning cash. In 2022 we introduced our ‘Queen of the Track’ class; a competitive heads up event for ladies who are looking to go fast and compete at a higher level. In QOTT we see cars anywhere from 10 secs down to mid 7’s. In 2022 we began sponsoring young racers across the country. From JR dragsters, JR street, go kart racing and more. W&W utilizes profits to fund sponsorships for these racers.

We are so appreciative to our sponsors, our racers and our customers for helping us continue to host the premier drag racing event for women in the US. We hope to see you at a race soon!
